Fashionpedia: Bag Styles

Bags have many styles and many names: clutch, wristlet, satchel, hobo, tote, shopper, messenger, and crossbody. Here are the differences between them:

Clutch:
A small bag held in the palm of the hand similar to an evening bag a little bit bigger than a long wallet.

Wristlet: A type of clutch that has a small strap in order to put it around the wrist instead of holding the bag by hand.

Hobo: A shoulder bag with one strap that has no particular shape (slouchy) but makes a crescent shape when carried.

Satchel: A bag that has a flat bottom can have one or two handles and can have a strap too.

Shopper: An oversized tote.
